Why GoodWe

The Smart Middle Ground: Serious Hardware, Realistic Budget

Not every home needs a $25,000 all-in-one energy platform. For most NSW families and small businesses the right answer is a proven hybrid inverter, a modular battery you can grow later, and an app that shows you exactly where your power is going. That is GoodWe's whole pitch — and it's why GoodWe has been one of Australia's top-selling hybrid inverter brands year after year.

ECR has been installing GoodWe since long before batteries were mainstream. We know which models suit a single-phase Central Coast home versus a three-phase Newcastle workshop, how to size a Lynx Home U stack for real overnight loads, and how to commission SEMS+ so it actually reports what's happening on your switchboard.

Where GoodWe sits in ECR's range: Sigenergy SigenStor is our flagship all-in-one platform; Tesla Powerwall is the premium battery add-on. GoodWe is the dependable workhorse — the system we recommend when you want solar, storage and backup that simply works, at a price that pays itself back quickly.

Everything a Modern Home Energy System Needs

GoodWe's residential range covers the full picture — from a straightforward grid-tied solar inverter through to hybrid inverter, battery, backup and EV charging, all managed from one free app.

Grid-Tied Solar Inverters

MS Series (5–10 kW single-phase, 3 MPPTs) and SDT G2 (5–20 kW three-phase). Up to 200% DC oversizing, built-in export limiting and arc-fault protection — the right foundation whether you're adding a battery now or later.

Hybrid Inverters

EH Series (3.6–6 kW single-phase) and ET Series (5–10 kW three-phase). Solar and battery in one unit, 110% overloading for high-draw appliances, and the EH can ship battery-ready and be unlocked later with an activation code.

Lynx Home U Battery

Modular LiFePO4 storage from 5.4 kWh to 32.4 kWh — stack modules as your needs grow. Plug-and-play with auto-recognition, fanless, 10-year warranty, and eligible for the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate.

Blackout Protection

GoodWe hybrids switch to backup in under 10 milliseconds — UPS-grade, so your fridge, lights, Wi-Fi and medical equipment don't notice the grid has gone. Backup circuits are chosen with you at design stage.

EV Charging

GoodWe's smart EV charger works with the same SEMS+ app, so you can charge on surplus solar, schedule off-peak charging, or top up as fast as your supply allows. Add it now or when the car arrives.

SEMS+ Monitoring App

Free for the life of the system. Live generation, consumption, battery level and grid import/export, daily and monthly history, and alerts if anything stops reporting — on iOS and Android.

Start Small, Grow Later

A Battery You Size to Your Bill, Not Someone Else's Brochure

Most homes don't need 30 kWh on day one. The Lynx Home U lets you start with two or three modules — enough to cover the evening peak — and add capacity later as an EV, a pool pump or a growing family changes your usage. Each module is recognised automatically; there's no reconfiguration and no wasted hardware.

  • LiFePO4 chemistry — thermally stable, no cobalt, long cycle life.
  • 5.4 kWh per module; 1 to 6 modules per stack (up to 32.4 kWh).
  • Fanless, low-noise — fine on a garage or side-of-house wall.
  • 10-year warranty from GoodWe, backed on-site by ECR.
  • Rebate-eligible: Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program (ECR handles the paperwork).

Charge the Car on Sunshine, Not the Grid

Adding an EV typically adds 2,000–4,000 kWh a year to a household's electricity use. Pair a GoodWe EV charger with your hybrid inverter and SEMS+ can push surplus solar straight into the car during the day, hold the house battery for the evening, and fall back to off-peak grid charging overnight if you need a full tank by morning.

  • Single- and three-phase charger options to suit your supply.
  • Solar-surplus, scheduled and fast-charge modes in the app.
  • Installed on the same visit as your solar or battery — one crew, one commissioning.
  • Ask us about solar carport and pergola structures for properties with limited roof space.

SEMS+ — Free Monitoring, No Subscription, Ever

Some brands charge for the app or the data. GoodWe's SEMS+ is free for the life of the system and shows the same thing your electrician sees: what the panels made, what the house used, what the battery did and what crossed the meter — today, this week, this year.

ECR commissions every system with a consumption meter fitted, so SEMS+ reports your real usage, not just solar output. It also means we can see a fault from the office and often fix it before you've noticed.

GoodWe for Business

Commercial Solar That Pays Back Fast

For workshops, warehouses, farms, clinics and retail across the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter and Sydney, GoodWe's three-phase range scales from a 5 kW shopfront to a 120 kW factory roof — with the same free multi-site monitoring throughout.

5–20 kW

SDT G2 Three-Phase

The go-to for small commercial roofs and larger homes. 98.4% efficiency, string-level monitoring, AFCI safety, full output at 50°C ambient — important on a tin roof in January.

100–120 kW

HT Series Three-Phase

Up to 12 MPP trackers and 1100 V DC input for larger warehouses and light-industrial sites. 99% peak efficiency, 150% DC oversizing and 115% AC overloading to make the most of a big roof.

Storage

Commercial Battery Storage

For businesses with evening or early-morning loads — cool rooms, bakeries, gyms — we design ET-series hybrid or AC-coupled GoodWe storage to shave demand charges and keep critical circuits running through outages.

Control

Export Limiting & Smart Control

GoodWe's SEC1000 controller and built-in export limiting meet network requirements on constrained feeders — so a bigger system gets approved where a basic inverter wouldn't.

Monitoring

SEMS Portal — Multi-Site

One login for every site. Real-time and historical performance, per-string alerts and exportable reports for your accountant, your landlord or your sustainability reporting.

Who It's Right For

Is GoodWe the Right Fit?

Budget-Conscious Households

You want a proper hybrid system with backup and a battery you can grow, and you'd rather the money went into panels and storage than a badge.

Existing Solar Owners

Your old string inverter is due for replacement. Swapping to a GoodWe hybrid adds battery-readiness and backup in the same visit, and often reuses your existing panels.

Blackout-Prone Areas

Hunter Valley, hinterland and semi-rural Central Coast properties where the grid drops out in storms. Sub-10 ms switchover keeps the essentials running without a flicker.

Planning an EV

Put in the hybrid inverter now, add the charger and extra battery modules when the car lands — all on one app, no rip-and-replace.

Small & Medium Business

Three-phase premises where a robust, well-supported inverter and multi-site monitoring matter more than smart-home tricks.

Not Sure Yet? That's Fine

We'll quote GoodWe alongside Sigenergy or Tesla so you can see the difference in dollars and features on one page — then choose.

The Typical Package

GoodWe + Trina Solar — Designed & Installed by ECR

ECR's most-requested GoodWe system pairs an EH or ET hybrid inverter and a Lynx Home U battery with a Trina Solar Vertex array — sized from your actual bills, installed by our own electricians, monitored on SEMS+.

Package ComponentSpecificationWhy This Combination
Trina Solar Vertex N panels6.6–13.2 kW arrayTier-1 panels, 25-year warranty; sized to the hybrid's DC oversizing headroom so winter output stays strong
GoodWe EH / ET hybrid inverter5–10 kW, single or three-phaseSolar + battery in one box with <10 ms backup — no separate battery inverter to buy
Lynx Home U battery10.8–16.2 kWh to start (2–3 modules)Covers the evening peak for most NSW homes; grow to 32.4 kWh later without changing anything else
GoodWe EV charger (optional)Single or three-phase smart chargerSolar-surplus charging managed in the same SEMS+ app
ECR installationLicensed electricians — 10+ yrsIn-house from first cable to final commissioning. 10-yr workmanship warranty, rebates handled for you

Rebates: GoodWe Lynx Home batteries are eligible for the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, and the solar array attracts STCs. ECR is an Accredited Certificate Provider and applies every rebate at quote stage, so the price you see is the price after rebates. GoodWe FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

Both, in the best sense. GoodWe is a top-tier global manufacturer and consistently one of the most installed hybrid inverter brands in Australia, with a local Australian office for warranty support. It is cheaper than premium all-in-one platforms because it's a conventional inverter-plus-battery architecture without an AI energy-management layer — not because the hardware is lesser. ECR has installed GoodWe for years with very few warranty callouts.

Most NSW homes are single-phase, which points to the EH Series (3.6–6 kW). Homes with ducted air-conditioning, a pool or a workshop are often three-phase and suit the ET Series (5–10 kW). We check your switchboard and meter before quoting, so you don't have to guess.

For a typical family home two or three Lynx Home U modules (10.8–16.2 kWh) cover the evening peak and a normal overnight load. Because the Lynx is modular you can add capacity later up to 32.4 kWh — we size from your actual bills rather than a rule of thumb, and we'll tell you if a smaller stack makes better financial sense.

Yes — the EH and ET hybrids switch to backup in under 10 milliseconds, faster than most appliances can notice. We wire selected circuits (lights, fridge, Wi-Fi, some power points) to the backup output at installation; whole-home backup including large air-conditioners depends on inverter size and battery capacity, which we'll go through with you.

Usually. If your current inverter is a GoodWe hybrid, we simply add Lynx modules. If it's an older string inverter, the most common path is replacing it with a GoodWe hybrid and keeping your panels — you gain a battery, backup and modern monitoring in one visit. We'll confirm compatibility after a look at your existing system.

GoodWe covers its inverters and Lynx Home batteries for 10 years. ECR adds a separate 10-year workmanship warranty on the installation and, because we hold your warranty, you call us — not the manufacturer — if anything ever needs attention.

Yes. The three-phase SDT G2 (5–20 kW) suits shops, clinics and workshops; the HT Series (100–120 kW) covers warehouses and factories; and ET hybrids or AC-coupled storage handle businesses with early-morning or evening loads. Every site reports into the same free SEMS portal, and ECR's own commercial team manages network applications, installation and STC/LGC claims.
