Are you licensed electricians?
Yes. Both ECR owners are fully licensed electrical contractors in NSW, as well as CEC-accredited solar installers. This means ECR can legally and safely complete the full scope of solar installation work — from rooftop panels to switchboard upgrades, battery installation and EV charger circuits — entirely in-house without subcontracting any electrical work.
Do you use subcontractors?
Never. Every installation ECR completes is done by our own licensed electrical team. We do not use subcontractors, labour-hire workers or third-party tradespeople on any job. This is a core principle of our business and the foundation of the quality and accountability we deliver.

Do you handle warranty claims after installation?
Yes — entirely. If a component installed by ECR develops a fault within its warranty period, you contact ECR and we manage the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf. You never need to contact Trina Solar, Tesla, GoodWe, Sigenergy, Evnex or any other manufacturer directly. We own the warranty relationship and the resolution.
Do you offer maintenance and servicing?
Yes. ECR provides annual system health checks, inverter firmware updates, performance monitoring reviews and cleaning referrals. We proactively contact our installation customers with service reminders. Your system performing at its best for 25 years is as important to us as the initial installation.
What solar panels does ECR install?
ECR installs Trina Solar Vertex series (our primary panel — up to 22.5% efficiency, 25-year warranty, exceptional real-world performance in Australian conditions) and SunPower Maxeon (our premium panel — up to 22.8% efficiency, 40-year warranty, copper foundation Maxeon cell technology). Both are globally recognised Tier-1 manufacturers.
How much does solar panel installation cost in NSW?
A quality 6.6kW system costs approximately $4,500–$7,500 after STC rebate. A 13.2kW system typically runs $9,000–$14,000. Commercial systems are quoted individually. These are complete installed prices — ECR's quotes include all equipment, installation labour, network connection and rebate documentation. No hidden charges.
How long do solar panels last?
Trina Solar Vertex panels are warranted to produce at least 84.8% of original output at year 25. SunPower Maxeon panels carry a 40-year warranty — the longest available from any manufacturer. Real-world data from systems installed in the 1990s confirms that quality panels genuinely deliver 30+ years of performance with proper installation.
Does ECR's installation affect my roof warranty?
ECR uses industry-standard, manufacturer-approved mounting hardware installed by our licensed electricians. All roof penetrations are properly sealed and weatherproofed. We've never had a roof leak claim from any installation we've completed. Our 10-year workmanship warranty covers the mounting system and any associated roof interface.
Do I need council approval for solar panels in NSW?
In most cases, no. Residential solar panel installations are classified as Exempt Development under NSW planning regulations and do not require development approval. Exceptions apply to heritage-listed properties and some conservation zones. ECR assesses your property's planning status as part of the design process and manages any required approvals.
What battery systems does ECR install?
ECR installs Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh, integrated inverter, full-home backup, 10-year unlimited cycle warranty — our premium offering) and GoodWe Lynx Home U series (6.4–25.6kWh modular, LiFePO4 chemistry, outstanding value — our mid-range offering). What battery rebates are available in NSW?
NSW residents can stack two battery incentive programs: (1) Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program: ~$244/kWh off eligible battery installations (tiered post May 2026 — small batteries get a proportionally higher rebate); (2) NSW VPP Incentive (PDRS BESS2): up to $1,500 for VPP-connecting your battery. Combined: $4,000–$5,500+ off a typical system. ECR manages all applications.
How big a battery do I need?
Most NSW family homes are well-served by 10–14kWh of storage — enough to cover typical evening consumption and provide meaningful backup capability. Homes with high evening loads, EVs or a desire for extended outage backup may benefit from 20kWh+. ECR models your actual energy consumption data to right-size the battery for your specific household rather than recommending a one-size-fits-all system.
Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?
Yes, in most cases. The process depends on your existing inverter brand, its age and the available network connection capacity. ECR can assess your existing system and recommend the most cost-effective battery addition pathway — including whether a hybrid inverter upgrade is required.
What EV chargers does ECR install?
ECR installs Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 (up to 11kW, 70km range/hr, Wi-Fi connected, compatible with all EVs via J1772 adapter) and Evnex E2/E3 smart chargers (7.2–22kW, solar-optimised charging, OCPP compliant for commercial applications). Both require and receive a licensed electrical installation from ECR's own team.
Can I charge my EV from my solar panels?
Yes. Evnex smart chargers include a solar-optimisation mode that automatically matches charging speed to your solar surplus — so your EV charges from free sunshine first. Pair your EV charger with a battery and solar overnight charging becomes the default. ECR designs EV charging into every complete solar system.
Is a dedicated EV charger really necessary?
Yes, practically speaking. A standard 10-amp powerpoint delivers approximately 10km of range per hour — meaning a full charge takes 25+ hours, and the powerpoint is not rated for continuous EV charging loads. A dedicated 7.2kW charger adds 40–50km per hour and is purpose-built for the task. It also enables smart scheduling, solar optimisation and proper energy monitoring.
What solar hot water systems does ECR install?
ECR installs heat pump hot water systems (our primary recommendation — no rooftop collectors, eligible for NSW PDRS rebate, runs on solar electricity, 60–75% less consumption than electric storage) and solar collector systems (flat plate and evacuated tube — direct solar thermal collection, federal STC rebate eligible).
Is there a rebate for solar hot water in NSW?
Yes. Heat pump hot water systems qualify for a point-of-sale discount under the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS). Solar collector systems qualify for federal Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). ECR checks your eligibility and applies both rebate types at point of sale as an Accredited Certificate Provider.
Will solar hot water work in winter?
Yes. Heat pump hot water systems extract thermal energy from ambient air and function effectively at temperatures as low as -7°C — meaning they perform reliably year-round in all NSW climate zones. Solar collector systems include a boost element (gas or electric) for operation during extended overcast winter periods. ECR designs systems appropriate for your local climate zone.
What is Sigenergy and why is ECR recommending it?
Sigenergy SigenStor is an all-in-one home energy system combining a solar inverter, battery storage (LiFePO4, 10–40kWh+), smart energy management, EV charger control and smart home integration (Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa) in a single wall-mounted unit. ECR recommends it because it genuinely integrates what would otherwise be four or five separate devices, carries the longest warranty in its category (15 years), and delivers a level of smart energy management no conventional inverter-battery combination can match.
Is Sigenergy available in Australia?
Yes. Sigenergy SigenStor is CEC-approved and fully compliant with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 4777.2 for grid connection). ECR is an authorised Sigenergy installer with the electrical and solar expertise to commission and support these advanced systems to their full capability.
Does Sigenergy qualify for the battery rebate?
Yes. Sigenergy SigenStor qualifies for the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program (~$244/kWh) and the NSW VPP Incentive (up to $1,500), providing combined savings of $4,000–$8,000+ depending on battery capacity selected. ECR manages all rebate applications.
What is the solar STC rebate and how much is it worth?
The federal Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) scheme provides an upfront discount on solar panel installations. For a 13.2kW system installed in NSW in 2026, the STC rebate is approximately $3,500–$5,000 depending on current certificate prices. The rebate is applied directly to your invoice by ECR — you see the discounted price and pay nothing extra to access it. The scheme reduces annually until 2030.
Can I combine solar and battery rebates?
Yes. The federal solar STC rebate and the federal battery rebate (Cheaper Home Batteries Program) are separate schemes and can be applied to the same installation. You can additionally stack the NSW VPP Incentive on top. ECR calculates every rebate your system qualifies for and applies them all to a single invoice.
