Bigger blocks, bigger bills, and a grid that drops out

Hunter properties tend to run hotter than coastal ones. Larger homes, ducted air conditioning, sheds, pumps and often a second fridge — consumption here is frequently double what we see on the Coast. That changes the sizing maths completely, and it is why a package system sold over the phone so often disappoints out this way.

The other difference is outages. Rural and semi-rural feeders through Branxton, Greta and out past Singleton go down more often and stay down longer. That makes battery backup a practical decision here, not a luxury one — provided the backup circuits are chosen properly.

  • Systems sized from real consumption data, not a package tier
  • Three-phase supply handled in-house, including commissioning
  • Backup circuits chosen with you — pumps, fridges, lights
  • Sheds and outbuildings included in the design where needed
  • Ausgrid connection and export applications lodged by us
  • Rural driveways and access assessed before install day

Questions

Hunter Valley solar questions

That is exactly what backup is for, and it is a genuinely common reason people out this way install one. We sit down and choose which circuits stay live — typically lights, fridges, internet and bore or pressure pumps — so the battery lasts the outage instead of draining in an hour.

Bigger homes, ducted air conditioning, sheds, pumps and often a second fridge or freezer. Hunter consumption is frequently double what we see in coastal suburbs, which is why a system sized off a generic package usually underperforms here.

Yes. A lot of Hunter properties are three-phase, particularly newer builds and anything with a decent shed. We design, install and commission three-phase solar and battery systems with our own team.

Often yes, and sometimes the shed is the better roof — better orientation, better pitch, no trees. We assess both during the site visit and put the array wherever it will actually produce.

Ausgrid. We lodge your connection application with them and manage any export-limit conditions on your feeder, which do vary in the more rural parts of the valley.
