What's On Offer

Two Ways the Program Makes Upgrades More Affordable

The Home Energy Saver program tackles the single biggest barrier to going solar: the upfront cost. It does that two ways — interest-free finance for most households, and direct discounts for those on lower incomes or concession cards.

Zero-Interest Loans — Available Now

Households with a combined taxable income up to $210,000 can borrow up to $15,000 and repay it over ten years, with no interest — turning a large upfront cost into a manageable monthly amount. The program expects to help more than 32,000 households.

Targeted Discounts — From Later in 2026

Households earning up to $80,000, or eligible concession card holders, can access discounts of up to $4,000 on energy-saving upgrades. Discounts are also available to renters making upgrades with their landlord's permission.

The NSW Home Energy Saver program also lists insulation, reverse-cycle air conditioning, ceiling fans and draught-proofing as eligible upgrades. How It Works

From Eligibility to Installed System

1

Check which support fits you

If your household earns up to $80,000 or holds an eligible concession card, you may qualify for a discount as well as a loan. The NSW Government advises applying for the discount first, then a loan to cover the remaining amount.

2

Get a written ECR quote

We model your energy use, design the right system for your home, and give you a fixed written quote — so you know exactly what you're financing or discounting before you apply.

3

Apply through the NSW program

Applications are made via the NSW Government at energy.nsw.gov.au/home-energy-saver. We'll provide the system details and documentation you need to support your application.

4

We install & commission

Our own licensed electricians install your system, complete electrical sign-off, and manage every federal and NSW solar & battery rebate you're entitled to as an Accredited Certificate Provider.

A worked example, straight from the program: if your household earns $200,000 and you want a $10,000 solar-and-battery system, you can take out a zero-interest loan and repay it over ten years — roughly $83 a month — instead of paying the full amount upfront.

Why ECR

The Installer Behind the Upgrade

A government program lowers the cost. The quality of your installer decides whether it's a 25-year asset or a 5-year headache. ECR is owner-operated, 100% in-house, and reachable long after installation day.

  • 10+ years of hands-on solar & electrical experience on every job
  • 100% in-house installation by licensed electricians — never subcontracted
  • CEC-accredited installers and an Accredited Certificate Provider for rebates
  • We own your warranty — you never chase a manufacturer
  • Full rebate management — STC, federal battery rebate and NSW VPP applied to your quote
  • Annual aftercare and system health checks for the life of your system
The Home Energy Saver program is administered by the NSW Government, not by ECR. Eligibility, income thresholds, loan amounts, discount availability and timing are set by the program and may change — confirm current details and apply at energy.nsw.gov.au/home-energy-saver. ECR does not assess or guarantee your eligibility. (Program facts sourced from the NSW Government release, 17 June 2026; surrounding copy drafted by ECR.)
